We are currently seeking a diligent and detail-oriented individual to join our Finance team as a Junior Accountant on a full-time basis.
Position Purpose
As a Junior Accountant, you will play a vital role in supporting the Senior Accountant in various financial tasks, including recording, and reviewing financial transactions, ensuring accuracy, and adherence to established processes and procedures as well as timely submissions. The successful candidate will assist with reconciliations, statutory compliance, and other accounting functions under the guidance of the Senior Accountant.

Relevant Accounting qualification
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet financial deadlines.
- A solid understanding of financial principles.
- Own transport is required.
- Experience in working with ERP Accounting systems, such as Business Central is advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Account Reconciliations:
- Perform timely and accurate accounts reconciliations, including bank statements, debit and credit accounts, cash-up sheets, tips accounts, etc.
- Accounts Payable:
- Ensure correct allocation of vendor invoices, verifying expenses, reconciliation of vendor accounts and preparing payments for approval.
- Accounts Receivable:
- Assist with monitoring customer accounts, creating and sending out invoices and monthly statements, as well as following up on overdue payments.
- Collaboration:
- Collaborate with relevant departments, vendors, and customers to reconcile discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
- Month-End Procedures:
- Assist the Finance department with month-end procedures:
- Processing of invoices for vouchers sold during the previous month.
- Processing of monthly excise and foreign currency journals.
- Processing of transaction fee journals i.e. Dineplan, Snapscan, etc.
- Clearing of the suspense account.
- Compliance:
- When performing duties, ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies and procedures.
- Assist with general transactions and procedures relating to compliance matters.
- General Finance Support:
- Support the Finance team with general finance duties, when required.
The salary for this position is open to negotiation and will be in line with the candidate's skills and level of experience.
