Job purpose: To lead and manage the Financial Function of the Northern packhouse divisions to meet organisational objectives in a manner that ensures profitability and sustainability in line with sound financial practices and internationally accepted accounting standards. By overseeing budgeting, audits, and day-to-day technical financial operations, you will play a crucial part in shaping and executing the financial strategy.
Suitable candidates will need to have the following minimum qualification and relevant experience:
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor of Commerce in Financial Management, Accounting or related field
• 5-10 years’ experience in cost and management accounting
• Understanding of financial procedures and operational systems
• Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience in the Agricultural / Citrus industry and packhouse finances will be an advantage.
Key Accountability Areas Financial Management and Business Reporting:
• Execute the finance function vision and strategy that was developed by the group
• Implement action plans to improve financial return to packhouses and overall business strategy
• Identify and interpret related legislation and its impact on the finance functions
• Research and develop appropriate finance technologies and adopt best practices
• Supervise the recording and accounting of financial transactions and assign relevant costs to different Northern Packhouses cost centres
• Optimal utilisation of all resources, capacity and costs
• Conduct financial refresher training and invest in training and development initiatives
• Preparation of monthly management accounts and reports
• Preparation of the annual budget
• Analyse and review capital cost estimates
• Maintain the Northern Packhouses financial processes, banking activities oversee budget and adjustments
• Direct Northern Packhouses’ tax obligations and review tax reduction opportunities
• Review financial control procedures and implement standard processes to mitigate business risks
Quality and Monitoring
• Overall finance service delivery and management of all financial regularities and incidents
• Manage the internal and annual audits
• Manage and maintain the Northern Packhouses’ capital expenditure, debtors, short term liabilities and service provider contracts and agreements
• Review and analyse Northern Packhouses’ liquidity and recommend solutions to liquidity problems
• Monitor and evaluate revenue generated, incurred costs and procurement of goods and services

The ideal candidate needs to be living in Nelspruit and willing to travel to all the northern packhouses in Limpopo and Mpumalanga.
