A prestigious wine estate in the heart of Stellenbosch is looking for a dynamic, ambitious and experienced Wine Sales Manager to drive international wine sales as well as local sales. This role requires a passion for wine, a strong industry network, and proven expertise in export sales, market development, and brand growth.
Key Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):
- Sales strategy and market expansion: Develop and implement export sales strategies to achieve revenue growth and increase market share in target regions.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, importers, and retail partners across international markets as well as local markets. Ensure excellent customer service
- Business development: Identify new market opportunities and conduct competitor and market analysis to inform strategic decisions.
- Negotiation and compliance: Handle contract negotiations and promotional strategies with key customers. Ensure adherence to international export & trade regulations, logistics and documentation requirements.
- Market insights, sales forecasting, and reporting: Analyze sales performance, market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to optimize sales strategies and product offerings, and provide regular reporting.
- Budget management: Monitor sales budgets, pricing strategies, and profitability margins.
- Trade shows and events: Represent the brand at national and international wine trade shows and networking events to enhance visibility and secure new partnerships.
- Team leadership: Train and support sales representatives or brand ambassadors
- Digital and E-commerce sales: Manage online wine sales, engage in digital marketing, and optimize direct-to-consumer sales.
- Work closely with the marketing and production teams to align sales strategies with brand positioning.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:
- Matric Minimum 5 years of experience in wine sales or a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of local and international wine markets and sales channels.
- Excellent sales, negotiation, and business development skills.
- Strong international network within the wine industry, both locally and abroad.
- Experience in distribution channels, trade regulations, and compliance.
- Ability to manage key accounts, develop new markets, and drive revenue growth.
- Proficiency in Afrikaans and English (additional languages advantageous).
- A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally and internationally as required
