About the Position:

This position will report to the Cellar Master and is responsible for but not limited to the below duties and responsibilities:

Main Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Winemaking (White and Red Wines)
  • Manage incoming grapes during harvest
  • Fermentation management and control in tanks and barrels
  • Tasting, blending and bottling of wines
  • Management of wine quality control and cellar hygiene
  • Staff Management (cellar workers)
  • Inventory control of wine and dry goods
  • Conduct wine tastings and wine promotions
  • Liaise with clients and suppliers
  • Admin and recordkeeping with regards to winemaking

Requirements:

  • BSc in Agriculture Viticulture and Oenology
  • Elsenburg Qualification in Cellar Technology or similar, with a main interest in Oenology
  • Literate in Afrikaans and English
  • 5 - 8 years’ relevant winemaking experience
  • Computer Literate
  • Reliable own vehicle and valid driver’s license
  • No criminal record
  • Working hours are Monday to Thursday, from 07h00 – 17h00 and Friday, from 07h00 – 16h00
  • Willingness to work additional hours when required as per the wine industry requirements
