About the Position:
This position will report to the Cellar Master and is responsible for but not limited to the below duties and responsibilities:
Main Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Winemaking (White and Red Wines)
- Manage incoming grapes during harvest
- Fermentation management and control in tanks and barrels
- Tasting, blending and bottling of wines
- Management of wine quality control and cellar hygiene
- Staff Management (cellar workers)
- Inventory control of wine and dry goods
- Conduct wine tastings and wine promotions
- Liaise with clients and suppliers
- Admin and recordkeeping with regards to winemaking
Requirements:
- BSc in Agriculture Viticulture and Oenology
- Elsenburg Qualification in Cellar Technology or similar, with a main interest in Oenology
- Literate in Afrikaans and English
- 5 - 8 years’ relevant winemaking experience
- Computer Literate
- Reliable own vehicle and valid driver’s license
- No criminal record
- Working hours are Monday to Thursday, from 07h00 – 17h00 and Friday, from 07h00 – 16h00
- Willingness to work additional hours when required as per the wine industry requirements
