Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a Pastry Chef for a renowned luxury wine estate located in Franschhoek. This role is perfect for a creative and skilled individual with a passion for crafting exceptional pastries and desserts in a high-end kitchen environment.

Salary: R11,000 – R13,000 (Negotiable, Dependent on Experience) | Live-Out
Meal Allowance: R22.50 per shift (for salaries below R25,000)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare a variety of pastries, desserts, breads, and other baked goods to the highest standards.

  • Develop and create new pastry menu items that align with the estate’s culinary vision.

  • Ensure consistent quality, presentation, and flavour in all pastry offerings.

  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the pastry section at all times.

  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering ingredients and supplies.

  • Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and kitchen best practices.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar role within a fine-dining or luxury hospitality environment.

  • Culinary qualification or relevant pastry certification preferred.

  • Creative flair with a strong eye for detail and presentation.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.

  • Passionate about delivering a refined guest experience through high-quality pastry offerings.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
