Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food and Beverage Manager for a prestigious luxury wine estate in Franschhoek. The successful candidate will oversee the efficient, effective, and profitable operation of the Food & Beverage department, ensuring the highest standards of service and guest satisfaction.

Salary: Negotiable, Dependent on Experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set and monitor department targets and objectives to ensure optimal performance

  • Drive sales and revenue through proactive strategies and innovation

  • Create new service and product ideas to maintain a competitive edge

  • Control costs in alignment with budgetary requirements

  • Maintain close collaboration between Front of House and Back of House teams

  • Ensure compliance with all licensing regulations

  • Oversee planning and execution of large-scale events

  • Uphold operational control procedures and policies

  • Maintain beverage profit margins

  • Define and monitor service and quality standards

  • Perform duty management shifts as needed


Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience in a 5-star hotel or property

  • Strong budgeting, procurement, and cost control knowledge

  • Solid customer service background

  • Advanced wine knowledge

  • Experience in menu planning and design

  • Background in staff training and coaching

  • Exceptional leadership and people management skills

  • Strong upselling and coaching ability

  • Hands-on, practical leadership style

  • High-level hosting and communication skills

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

  • Understanding of cost controls and supplier negotiations

  • Financial acumen in budget and P&L management

  • Passionate, energetic, and fun approach to hospitality


Compensation & Benefits:

  • Monthly salary: Negotiable, DOE

  • Performance bonus: Up to 20% of annual salary

  • Working hours: As per operational requirements (typically five days per week)

  • Medical Aid: 50% company contribution (Discovery)

  • Provident Fund: 7.5% company contribution (Old Mutual)

  • Cell phone and monthly allowance provided

  • Annual Leave: 15 days per year plus an additional day off for your birthday
