De Warenmarkt restaurant has a unique opportunity for a restaurant floor manager in the heart of central Stellenbosch

We are looking for a experienced restaurant floor manager who has strong operational and leadership skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service Management:
  • Ensure that all guests receive excellent service and have a positive dining experience.
  • Handle guest complaints and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Oversee reservations and manage seating arrangements to optimize guest flow.
  • Staff Supervision:
  • Supervise and lead front-of-house staff, including servers, hosts, and bartenders.
  • Schedule shifts, assign tasks, and ensure adequate staffing levels during peak hours.
  • Provide ongoing training and performance feedback to staff to maintain service standards.
  • Operational Efficiency:
  • Ensure that the dining area is clean, organized, and well-stocked.
  • Monitor the pacing of service, ensuring that food and drinks are delivered promptly.
  • Work closely with the kitchen staff to ensure the quality of food and timely delivery.
  • Compliance and Safety:
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the dining area, including floors, tables, and restrooms.
  • Oversee the handling of food and beverages, ensuring proper sanitation and safety
  • Communication and Coordination:
  • Act as the point of contact between front-of-house and back-of-house staff.
  • Communicate any issues or special requests with kitchen and management.
  • Collaborate with other managers to address operational concerns and improve guest satisfaction.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in the restaurant industry,  in a supervisory role.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Minimum five years of food and beverage management
