Piekenierskloof Wines, situated in Citrusdal, has the above opportunity for a Sales & Business Development Officer. The ideal candidate takes ownership of sales activities with a practical, hands-on mindset, and has a commitment to seeing tasks through to completion.
This is a hybrid role that requires minimum 2 office days per week.
Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to): *Sales and Marketing: Develop and execute strategic sales plan to grow the South African market in collaboration with the Cellar Manager *Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, distributors, and trade partners *Monitor and report on sales performance *Communicate and facilitate marketing strategy and marketing activities to agents *Support and manage agents to reach monthly targets *Explore and manage new markets and potential clients *Oversee correct invoicing and stock allocations to clients and agents *Manage and compile sales budget according to the strategic sales and marketing plan. *Digital platform, Social Media and PR Communication: *Oversee brand positioning, promotional campaigns, digital marketing, and events (e.g., tastings, festivals, and trade shows) *Attending trade shows, tastings and/or any related brand exposure events *Ensure consistent, premium brand messaging across all channels (including trade, DTC, tasting rooms) *Create, edit and update promotional material and publications (brochures, videos, tasting sheets, social media posts, etc.) *Develop, implement and manage social media strategy in collaboration with communications agency *Manage and oversee social media content, MailChimp and the website. Tasting Room Facility: *Driving online sales *Manage and compile budget *Ensure the brand and story of PKWC is presented *Manage and initiate events *Manage brand marketing merchandise. Wine Industry Competitions: *Entering wines for competitions *Managing budget *Compiling results. Team management (pertaining to sales): Lead, mentor, and motivate a team comprising of Trade agents, Digital Media Agency and Tasting Room Managers, fostering a culture of collaboration, excellence, and passion for wine *Set clear targets, performance goals, provide regular feedback.
Essential qualifications, skills, and experience:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Sales and Marketing;
- Approximately 2-3 years' experience in a similar position in the wine/beverage/FMCG industries;
- Strong website/social media skills;
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills (Afrikaans & English);
- Excellent computer literacy (MS Office, EzyWine);
- Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport.
