Capensis Wines is seeking a Wine Tasting Tutor with a passion for fine wines, a flair for storytelling, and a dedication to exceptional guest experiences to join their team. The position is a part-time role, where shifts are shared between the team members in accordance with availability. Remuneration will be a combination of shift pay + commission on sales.
Responsibilities:
• Setting up tasting area
• Presenting tutored wine tastings
• Ensure presentation, quality and temperature of wines are correct
• Assembling snacks and any additional catering needs
• Assisting external catering companies
• Processing wine orders (in-country and exports)
• Ensure a minimum loss through breakage, waste, theft and incorrect orders and capturing any losses
• Clean-up and clearing of Kliphuis after a tasting
• Promoting and processing sales
• Adhere strictly to the provisions and regulations as contained in the Liquor Act (No. 59 of 2003) and other regulations as may be applicable to the sale of alcoholic beverages
Requirements:
• Related experience will be to your advantage
• WSET or Cape Wine Academy accreditation will be beneficial
• Own transport / Reliable transport
• Valid driver’s license
• Confident and capable in the kitchen
• In depth knowledge of wines and being able to communicate and explain this to guests
• Passionate about wine and the hospitality industry
• Excellent interpersonal & communication skills
• Strong customer service orientation
• Comfortable in dealing with very distinguished clientele
• Must be well-presented
• Willing to work flexible hours and be able to work under pressure
• Focus on providing great hospitality and customer service
• Detail oriented, multi-tasker, and self – motivated
