Our client, a well-known and established wine, herb, and fruit estate located in Franschhoek, has a vacant position for a Hospitality & Events Manager.
The Hospitality & Events Manager position encompasses a diverse portfolio, including Hospitality Management, Event Management, overseeing bookings for accommodation and events, budget and financial management, effective event execution, and business relationship building with vendors and suppliers.
Minimum Job Requirements and Experience:
• Qualification in Hospitality Management, Event Management, Project Management, or an equivalent tertiary qualification.
• Proven track record as an experienced Hospitality & Events Manager, particularly in contracting entertainment for events.
• Minimum of 3-5 years' experience.
• Experience in sponsorship management, negotiation, and client relations.
• Project and resource management, budget management, and people management skills.
• Knowledge of crowd and public facility management.
• Familiarity with marketing principles and processes (e.g., agency selection, briefings, conceptual and creative evaluation, debriefings, etc.).
• Brand and corporate identity creation.
• Costing and budget control for events management.
• Excellent communication (fluent in English and Afrikaans) and negotiation skills.
• Computer literacy in MS Office.
• In-depth knowledge of classic cuisine and wine.
• Customer service-driven individual.
• Experience in upscale/fine dining hospitality service.
• Attention to detail, problem-solving, creativity, and innovation.
• Strong leadership skills.
