A leading hospitality destination is seeking a dynamic and experienced Retail & Merchandising Manager to develop and lead retail operations as a standalone business unit. This role includes overseeing retail outlets, driving product development, managing visual merchandising, and training staff to deliver an exceptional customer experience that supports sales growth. Must have worked on a wine estate previously in this capacity preferably.

Key Responsibilities:

Source and collaborate with suppliers to develop new product ranges aligned with the annual retail plan.

Ensure all operations align with sustainability goals and internal processes.

Manage stock replenishment, accurate inventory records, and phase-out of discontinued items.

Coordinate with E-commerce and Marketing teams to maintain an online lifestyle product range.

Curate and manage gift orders for corporate clients, including logistics and packaging.

Train retail staff to build strong product knowledge and enhance customer engagement.

Develop and maintain a comprehensive product catalogue including visuals, pricing, and descriptions.

Plan and implement annual retail and merchandising strategies aligned with brand objectives and key events.

Oversee visual merchandising to ensure consistent branding and a premium customer experience.

Monitor project costs, manage budgets, and ensure efficient use of financial resources.
Candidate Profile:

Minimum 5 years’ experience in retail buying and merchandising, preferably in lifestyle homeware or hospitality retail.

Strong experience in product development, supplier management, and range planning.

Skilled in visual merchandising, ideally within boutique or high-end environments.

Experience with sustainability-driven practices is advantageous.

Commercially minded with the ability to analyze sales data and make informed decisions.

Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective team and supplier collaboration.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Teams) and POS systems (MICROS experience beneficial).

Must have own reliable transport and a clear criminal record.
