Job Description:
In this role, you will lead the restaurant team in delivering outstanding service, oversee daily floor operations, and ensure a consistently high guest experience. You’ll manage staff rotas, coordinate with the kitchen and bar, and uphold service and hygiene standards. Your leadership, attention to detail, and hands-on approach will be key to the smooth and successful running of the restaurant.
- Lead the hotel restaurant team with a focus on exceptional service, upholding operational standards while seeking opportunities for innovation.
- Take overall responsibility for food and beverage service across the hotel restaurant, bars, and in-room dining.
- Oversee day-to-day operations, fostering a proactive and motivated working environment.
- Develop concepts, plan execution, and optimize stock usage for group bookings and special events.
- Ensure the efficient completion of mid-month and monthly beverage stock takes.
- Prepare and manage the annual operating, capital expenditure, and operating equipment budgets, along with relevant cost controls and procedures.
- Maximise business performance in terms of revenue, cost of sales, and general expenditure, in line with the set budget.
- Monitor and manage cash flow, stock levels, credit, and debtors, taking necessary or corrective action where needed.
- Consistently apply effective performance management practices, providing guidance and regular feedback, and promoting a culture of accountability.
- Handle HR-related administrative tasks, ensuring records are kept up to date and required reports are submitted on time.
- Collaborate with HR and other support departments to ensure adherence to systems and procedures.
- Lead training and staff development initiatives to build high-performing teams, including regular coaching and performance feedback.
- Maintain strong and collaborative working relationships with team members and other departments.
Experience Required:
- 5 years’ experience in food and beverage operations in a supervisory role, with at least 3 years at management level.
- A degree or diploma in Hospitality Management is desirable.
- WSET or CWA certification would be an advantage.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a hands-on leadership style.
- Able to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, with the flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances.
- A creative and innovative thinker, capable of motivating teams with a strong commitment to exceeding guest expectations at all times.
- A genuine passion for and knowledge of wine.
- Familiarity with restaurant administration and financial management.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
- A dynamic and responsible attitude, with a cheerful and service-driven mindset.
