World-class, luxury wine estate in Stellenbosch is looking for a Gardener Supervisor that will be responsible for the daily operations of the gardening services & to assist the Gardens Manager.
KPA’S:
- Ensure all equipment is maintained regularly to provide safe and optimal performance
- Regularly check the quality of work being done by employees
- Keep records of incoming and outgoing parts as required
- Allocate tasks according to individual abilities
- Knowledge of gardening techniques.
- Knowledge of plant and flower care techniques.
- Maintain all gardening equipment and machinery, like mowers, trimmers and leaf blowers
- Ability to use professional mowing, trimming and pruning equipment
- Monitor and maintain the health of plants
- Deal with pest problems that could damage plants
- Keep gardens and green spaces clear of debris and litter
REQUIREMENTS:
- Min 2 - 3 years’ experience as a Gardener Supervisor
- Valid drivers licence
- Familiarity with landscaping design
- Extensive knowledge of regional plant life
- Knowledge of local pests and how to eliminate them
- Knowledge of synthetic and natural fertilizers
- Knowledge of state health and safety regulations for landscaping
- The ability to lift heavy objects
- The ability to remain on your feet for long periods of time
- A love of the outdoors and plant life
