National Wine Sales Manager

Thelema Mountain Vineyards is currently accepting applications for the National Wine Sales Manager role. The ideal candidate will be someone who has a deep knowledge of the South African wine market, is a self-motivated strategic thinker, and has the skills-set to build our brand equity while growing sales and fostering strong relationships with key accounts and partners.

ABOUT THELEMA MOUNTAIN VINEYARDS
Thelema is a family owned and managed winery, situated on the southern slopes of the Simonsberg mountain, overlooking the town of Stellenbosch. The first wines were produced in 1988, and Thelema has established itself as one of the iconic wineries of the South African wine industry. Sutherland Vineyards is Thelema’s cool-climate vineyard, located in the Elgin Valley. Our wines are distributed in South Africa through Vinimark.

KEY RESPONSIBILTIES
• Creation and implementation of national sales strategies for the full range of Thelema and Sutherland wines
• Identify growth opportunities, analyse market trends and adapt strategies accordingly
• Working closely with our national distributor, sales partners, sales teams and customers to increase both sales and brand awareness
• Develop strong long-term relationships with key on-trade and off-trade partners

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, EXPIERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES
•5+ years management and sales experience in the wine industry
•Strong knowledge and understanding of the South African wine industry
•Strong understanding of pricing structures, promotions, discounts, budgets and profit margins, specific to the wine industry
•Strong existing relationships within the South African retail and restaurant industry
•Strong leadership and motivational skills
•Ability to work on commercial sales and sales management systems
