De Morgenzon, a well-established and premium wine estate based in Stellenbosch, is looking for an experienced Logistics Manager to join their dynamic team.
The ideal incumbent is an analytical, practical problem-solver with a proactive approach, excellent with planning and have the ability to work effectively under pressure. This role is ideal for a logistics professional who understands the complexity of wine production and will play a key role in maintaining a high level of Inventory, Transportation Management and Order Processing, while providing insights to support decision-making across wine production and wine sales.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Inventory Management: *Processing all stock journals on Pastel (Blending, Bottling & Labelling) *Record keeping of all wine movements in & out of cellar to ensure accurate monthly SAWIS submission *Record keeping of all wine movements in & out of cellar, local & export sales to ensure accurate online monthly C & E submission *Receive, check and process stock take sheets monthly on Pastel *Keeping track of allocations & communicating stock levels to winery and clients as needed, order packaging goods (Dry Material)
- Transportation Management (Export & Local): *Arrange samples delivery and manage documentation required *Set up new clients as requested, and ensuring all their requirements are fulfilled *Applying for exports certificates, arrange all other export documentation *Sending shipping instructions to freight forwarders *Euro quota application (annual) *Keeping track of allocations & communicating stock levels to winery and clients as needed/monthly *Ensure Chep pallets are ordered & transferred accordingly *Manage customer portals
- Order Processing: *Assist with receiving, checking stock & pricing once PO is received *Compile work order for warehouse to process and pack according to requirements *Confirm stock ready date with Winery, Client and Agent *Invoicing on Pastel
- General Cellar Admin: *Assist with BG 9 & BG 11 applications *Order & ensure cellar sundries are delivered/collected as requested *Handing C & E submission over to Financial Manager for payment *Scheduling all deliveries and collections *Renew sensorial dates of wines as needed *Processing production journals on Pastel *Completing tenders’ forms for clients/agents to submit, & following up when needed
Essential Qualifications, skills and experience:
- 3 to 5-year experience in logistics, preferably in the wine industry
- Strong communication skills are vital for coordinating with suppliers, customers, and internal teams
- Adept at using logistics software (knowledge of Pastel will be beneficial) to track inventory levels, orders, and deliveries
- Bachelor’s degree in this field will be to your advantage, but not compulsory
