The Perdeberg Group, situated in the Paarl Wine region and renowned for its innovation, dedication to excellence & multi-award winning wine portfolio, has the above position available for a Stock Controller to join their Hospitality team.

Working days for this role will be from Thursdays to Mondays.

The successful candidate will manage and control all stock operations for the Cellar Door Store, and support hospitality teams by ensuring accurate and timely supply of stock and online orders, while upholding storage standards and compliance.

KPA's will include: Access Control & Security: Controlling access to the storeroom, maintaining key registers, and enforcing security procedures. *Wine Stock Storage & Quality Control: Ensuring proper storage conditions, maintaining hygiene and safety standards, conducting weekly stock counts, and applying FIFO practices. *Receiving & Dispatch: Verifying deliveries, managing incoming/outgoing stock, rejecting damaged/incorrect goods, and ensuring accurate dispatch documentation. *Documentation & Transaction Control: Ensuring all necessary documentation is in place & verified, maintaining accurate records, reporting on stock counts. *Packaging & Handling: Implementing packing & handling procedures, supervising packing/loading, ensuring appropriate packing materials are used. *Regulatory & Audit Compliance: Adhering to SOP’s and statutory requirements (customs, SARS, Liquor, H&S), supporting audits, ensuring compliance with company policy & legal requirements. *All other tasks related to the position.

Essential qualifications, skills, and experience:

  • Matric, and minimum 2 years’ experience in wine storage, retail stock control, or a hospitality storeroom environment;
  • Knowledge of wine handling & preservation standards;
  • Excellent communication skills (Afrikaans & English);
  • Good computer literacy (MS Excel; ERP system experience - Palladium advantageous);
  • Understanding of customs, excise, or liquor compliance processes;
  • Valid forklift & driver’s licenses.
