They are looking for a Field Guide and Guest Experience Couple to join them, a couple with strong hospitality experience who can deliver exceptional service and ensure the highest standards for guests.
As the Field Guide and Guest Experience Couple, you will each receive a basic remuneration, with company benefits, live-in accommodation, and meals included. The role follows a 6-week-on, 2-weeks-off schedule in a breathtaking safari environment.
Job Description:
In this role, you will create unforgettable guest experiences both in the lodge and out in the bush. Together, you’ll deliver warm, attentive hospitality and exceptional guiding, ensuring every guest enjoys a seamless, adventurous, and truly memorable stay immersed in nature.
Guest Experience
- Welcome guests on arrival, manage check-ins, check-outs, and orientations
- Conduct room checks and assist in maintaining high presentation standards
- Support retail operations in the curio shop and assist with stock control and invoicing
- Handle reception and administrative tasks, including basic financial duties
- Host guests with warmth and professionalism, ensuring a seamless stay
- Communicate effectively with all departments to support smooth operations
- Uphold the lodge’s brand standards and contribute to exceptional guest experiences
Field Guide
- Lead game drives and guided walks, sharing expert knowledge of wildlife and the environment
- Collaborate with trackers and management to deliver outstanding safari experiences
- Engage with guests during activities and hosted meals, fostering connection and enjoyment
- Ensure vehicles and equipment are well-maintained and ready for use
- Assist with general lodge tasks when required, supporting the overall guest experience
Experience Required:
Guest Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a similar front-of-house role within a luxury safari or hospitality setting
- Strong background in guest relations, administration, and service delivery
- Recognized hospitality qualification preferred, plus Matric essential
- Confident driver with a valid license
- Exceptional communication, organization, and time management skills
- Highly attentive to detail, proactive, and solutions-focused
- Strong leadership and teamwork abilities with a guest-first mindset
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and reservation systems
- Comfortable handling basic finance and reporting tasks
- Professional, polished demeanor with a passion for delivering exceptional experiences
Field Guide
- 3–5 years’ guiding experience in a high-end lodge environment
- Fully qualified: FGASA Level 2, DEAT registered, First Aid, Trails Guide, and Advanced Rifle Handling
- Valid PDP licence and SAPS firearm competency required
- Proven ability to deliver engaging, safe, and educational safari experiences
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong guest focus
- Works well independently and collaboratively within the guiding team
- Professional, responsible, and calm under pressure
- Strong problem-solving skills and a positive, adaptable attitude
