My Client recruits for a Packaging Manager. Packaging material consists of Citrus, Grapes, Stone Fruit, Strawberries, Blueberries and Avocado's for the International market.

Minimum knowledge & experience required to perform this job competently:
Education & Experience:
Formal tertiary qualifications with at least 5 – 7 years’ relevant work experience
Job Purpose:
To ensure packaging meets quality, cost, sustainability and EU standards and regulations while aligning with brand guidelines.
Liaising and coordinating with suppliers and distributors and ensuring compliance with industry packaging regulations driving innovation in packaging processes.
Key Responsibilities: (not limited to)
• Manage artwork and distribution of approved artwork between the approved company suppliers (corrugators, label manufacturers etc)
• Managing packaging inventory at distributors across the country to support packaging material availability for each Company Grower and Packhouse.
• Oversee inventory levels of packaging materials (cartons, labels, wrappers, liner bags etc)
• Forecast orders to suppliers for seasonal demand.
• Manage packaging material inventory rotation to minimize and reduce costs.
• Manage approved suppliers with supporting compliance, declaration and Food Safety documentation.
• Food Fraud and Defense analysis
• Costing: Detailed packaging material costing of each pack type per commodity.
Managing and reconciling packaging material at packhouses
Managing tender processes (invitation, compiling information and the comparison)
• Coordinating and assisting with packaging trials for continuous improvement and improving shelf life.
• Investigate and resolve packaging-related quality issues in collaboration of QA teams.
• Procuring packaging material according to marketing and customer requests.
