Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and motivated Commis Chef to join a prestigious luxury wine estate based in Franschhoek.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Complete all mise en place, including preparation and cutting of meat and fish
Cook and arrange food according to instructions from senior chefs
Co-ordinate kitchen activities to ensure an efficient and smooth food service
Control costs by minimising waste, spoilage, and adhering to portion control standards

Experience and Skills:

Minimum of 1 year's experience in a similar role
Competent knife skills
Knowledge of basic herbs, spices, ingredients, and their uses
Ability to ensure all prep work is completed to the required standard
Capable of multitasking and performing well under pressure

Inherent Requirements:

Matric Certificate
Diploma in Professional Cookery is advantageous
Full Covid-19 vaccination is mandatory

Salary: R7,000 – R9,000 per month (Negotiable DOE)
