Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an enthusiastic Junior Barman to join a prestigious luxury wine estate in Stellenbosch. The successful candidate will provide an excellent guest drinking experience, creating both classic and innovative beverages that exceed customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for bar and restaurant patrons
Interact with customers, take orders, and serve drinks and snacks
Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations
Mix and prepare ingredients for cocktails
Plan and present the bar menu
Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies
Stay guest-focused and nurture an excellent guest experience
Comply with all food and beverage regulations and ensure minimum losses
Maintain standards of hygiene and cleanliness in all bar areas
Check drinks presentation and temperature to ensure quality
Ensure the bar is set up and ready for service, including coffee stations and machines
Assist management with bar stock control
Main Requirements:
Preferably 2+ years’ experience as a Barman
Ability to travel to and from the property for late shifts as required
Passionate about the hospitality industry
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal
Strong customer service orientation with excellent people skills
Ability to maintain professional working relationships across all departments
Comfortable dealing with distinguished clientele
Honesty, flexibility, accountability, and friendliness
Professional manner and attitude
Punctual and self-disciplined
Extreme attention to detail
Basic computer and administration skills
