Portfolio Representative - Johannesburg

The above position will become vacant at the Johannesburg branch, reporting to the National Sales Manager, Brandon Wyatt. The Portfolio Representative will drive brand visibility for Craft Link, support trade execution, and ensure Craft Link portfolio is front-of-mind across off trade channels. The successful candidate will work closely with our sales team and Sales/Regional managers to activate brand strategies, optimize in-market execution, and deliver exceptional trade support. 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 Matric certificate.
  • 3+ years of experience in trade marketing, brand management, or sales within the premium alcohol or FMCG industry.
  • Strong understanding of distributor operations and trade dynamics in off trade channels.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Highly organized with a passion for execution excellence and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple stakeholders and priorities
  • No criminal record.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who reside in the Johannesburg region or who are willing to relocate to the area.

Key areas of responsibility will include:

Trade Execution & Support:

  • Drive flawless execution of brand plans, activations, and promotional campaigns in trade.
  • Ensure visibility and compliance with brand guidelines across all retail.
  • Support the sales team with sell-in tools, point-of-sale materials, and execution tracking.
  • Conduct regular trade visits to assess execution quality and identify opportunities for improvement.

Sales Force Enablement:

  • Deliver brand and product training to sales teams, ensuring deep understanding of brand stories, product attributes, and key selling points.
  • Act as a resource for sales teams during customer engagements, launches, and events.
  • Collaborate with sales/regional managers to develop tailored execution plans aligned with local market dynamics.

Brand Advocacy & Communication:

  • Serve as the internal brand ambassador, ensuring Craft Link premium portfolio is prioritized and well-represented.
  • Facilitate two-way communication between Craft Link and Niew Beverages, sharing insights, feedback, and performance updates.
  • Monitor competitor activity and market trends to inform brand strategy and execution.

Reporting & Insights:

  • Track and report on execution KPIs, including visibility, activation success, and compliance.
  • Provide regular feedback to internal stakeholders on trade conditions, opportunities, and challenges
  • Support the development of quarterly and annual reviews.
