Senior Production Manager (Vineyard)

Babylonstoren has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Production Manager with a passion for vineyards and farming!

Requirements:

• A relevant qualification in viticulture
• At least six years’ experience in a similar role
• Sound working knowledge of vineyard production
• Strong organisational, time management and supervisory skills
• Ability to work and perform under pressure

Suitably qualified applicants from designated groups will be given priority.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the Production Manager and Senior Supervisor within the vineyard division
• Oversee the team’s daily activities
• Manage the irrigation, pest control and weed control schedules
• Facilitate communication between the farm and cellar teams
• Manage all vineyard audits (SAWIS & WIETA)
• Prepare and manage the budget
• Conduct detailed weekly planning of activities and labour requirements
• Support the other department as needed
