We are seeking an experienced and hardworking Cellar Assistants/Workers to support our cellar operations. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 5 years’ hands-on experience in a wine cellar, strong technical knowledge of cellar processes, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.

You will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of cellar work to ensure smooth, safe, and high-quality wine production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily cellar operations including crushing, pressing, racking, blending, and filtering.
  • Assist with fermentation management: pump-overs, punch-downs, additions, monitoring, and record-keeping.
  • Operate and maintain cellar equipment, including pumps, hoses, filters, presses, and forklifts (if licensed).
  • Clean and sanitise tanks, barrels, hoses, and work areas to maintain hygiene and safety standards.
  • Assist with barrel work, including filling, topping, moving, and washing.
  • Support bottling line preparations and bottling operations as required.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety, quality, and winery protocols.
  • Complete cellar logs, production records, and compliance documentation accurately.
  • Perform general maintenance and housekeeping duties in the cellar.
  • Collaborate with the winemaking team to ensure efficient workflow during peak periods.

Minimum Requirements

  • 5+ years' experience working in a wine cellar (essential).
  • Strong understanding of cellar operations, harvest processes, and wine production techniques.
  • Ability to safely operate cellar equipment and machinery where necessary
  • Physically fit and able to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, and work in varying conditions.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and quality.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and extended shifts during peak season.
