Job Description:
In this role, you will oversee the full operation of a world-class luxury lodge, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, strong team leadership, financial control, and sustainable business practices. You’ll drive excellence across every department, fostering a culture of service, community engagement, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee daily lodge operations, ensuring smooth running and exceptional guest service
- Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary team, fostering collaboration and high performance
- Manage budgets, forecasting, and financial reporting to achieve commercial goals
- Maintain high standards across accommodation, dining, and guest activities
- Drive guest satisfaction through attention to detail and creative guest experiences
- Develop and implement staff training and succession plans
- Oversee HR processes, including recruitment, performance management, and wellbeing
- Monitor and maintain lodge infrastructure, vehicles, and equipment
- Promote sustainability initiatives and reduce environmental impact
- Build and maintain positive relationships with guests, staff, and local communities
- Partner with conservation and community development programmers
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and company policies
- Plan and oversee CAPEX projects and maintenance budgets
- Represent the brand at industry events, hosting VIPs and media when required
- Drive business efficiencies and uphold the lodge’s reputation for excellence
Experience Required:
- Proven leadership experience within a five-star lodge
- Strong financial and business acumen with experience managing budgets and cost control
- Skilled in team management, staff development, and performance coaching
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with guests and employees alike
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
- Passion for hospitality, wildlife, and guest experience
- Confident decision-maker with the ability to work under pressure
- Strong understanding of sustainability and community engagement initiatives
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and lodge management systems
- Creative thinker with a drive for innovation and continuous improvement
- Professional, hands-on approach with a focus on delivering results
- Experience managing HR functions and employee relations
- Committed to maintaining brand standards and upholding company values
- Previous experience in project or CAPEX planning
- Minimum 3 years’ leadership experience in a similar role within luxury hospitality
