Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a commercially astute and detail-oriented Property Financial Manager for a luxury boutique hotel in Cape Town. This hands-on finance role is responsible for overseeing all property-level financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and robust reporting while supporting operational and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Operations & Controls
• Oversee all property-level finance functions to ensure accuracy and compliance with company procedures
• Review and approve purchase orders, ensuring correct budget allocation
• Manage cash flow, including petty cash and credit card reconciliations
• Validate daily revenue submissions and ensure timely financial reporting
• Maintain and reconcile fixed asset and operating equipment registers
• Oversee inventory controls, variance checks, and final system sign-offs
Budgeting, Reporting & Analysis
• Drive and manage the annual budgeting process at property level
• Prepare and analyse management accounts with variance reporting
• Produce flash and projection reports to support operational and strategic decision-making
• Support pricing of extras and ancillary services in collaboration with operations
Audit, Compliance & Internal Controls
• Ensure strong internal controls and adherence to company standards
• Assist with annual external audits and preparation of supporting documentation
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
• Act as the finance liaison between the property and support office teams
• Work with HR on gratuities, staff deductions, and payroll-related finance matters
• Provide financial guidance and support to operational teams when required
Minimum Requirements (Essential)
• Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in finance, with at least 2 years in hospitality
• Strong MS Office skills; experience with accounting systems (Sage advantageous)
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced hospitality environment
• Clear and confident communicator, able to explain financial data to non-financial teams
Advantageous
• Experience in boutique or luxury hospitality environments
• Experience working across both hotel and food & beverage operations
• Strong business partnering mindset with operational teams
