Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager for a luxury, family-friendly restaurant located in the heart of Stellenbosch. This beautiful property also includes an event venue, offering a dynamic environment with both daily restaurant operations and function coordination.

The restaurant operates for breakfast, lunch, and two dinner services per week, requiring a manager who can run the operation consistently and confidently on a day-to-day basis.

Salary: R18,000 – R25,000 (Negotiable DOE)

Requirements

• Previous management experience in a restaurant or luxury dining environment
• Strong wine knowledge, ideally with a background in Stellenbosch or similar wine regions
• Excellent administrative and organisational skills
• Ability to manage a small team of 4–6 waiters
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to maintain high service standards
• Comfortable overseeing both restaurant service and venue/event coordination
• Hands-on, proactive, and committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences
• Able to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily restaurant operations with consistency and professionalism
• Maintain high levels of service, guest satisfaction, and overall dining experience
• Oversee and support a small front-of-house team
• Conduct wine service, recommendations, and uphold cellar standards
• Handle administrative duties such as rostering, stock control, cash-ups, and reporting
• Coordinate with the venue team for events and functions held on the property
• Ensure smooth, efficient breakfast, lunch, and limited dinner services
