Kitchen position - Chef

All-rounder in kitchen hot and cold
Staff complement of 4
Shift schedule summer season 6 days a week, winter season 5 days a week 
Work hours: 8:00 - 17:00 kitchen closes at 15:00 Chef needs to be flexible and work around the guests
Sunday and Public Holidays we are open
Available to work evening functions as and when required
Position will be a fixed term contract with the scope to become permanent contract.
Remuneration: Hourly rate and 1.5 rate on Sundays and Public Holidays salary range negotiable dependent on ability and experience

The candidates must meet the following requirements to be considered for this role:

Must be a qualified chef 2 year cooking experience in restaurant or hotel kitchen
The position is well suited to a young ambitious Chef who has leadership qualities to take the lead in the kitchen
Manage stock, weekly stock takes and monthly stock takes
Placing of orders,
Must have a passion for preparing food, meeting guests, and adhering to hygiene practices.

Willingness to try new dishes, do some pickling and be creative within the guidelines
Must be able to work well under pressure 
Be fully bi-lingual English and Afrikaans; computer literate
SA ID holder

Must have valid Driver’s licence and own transport
Well presented, and willing to present a menu to guests verbally when requested.

A passion for wine knowledge and cooking to wine would be advantageous
Must be able to work unsupervised 
Own transport
