The company has offices in Cape Town, Groblersdal and Dubai. A vacancy exists for an experienced Logistics Controller in the Cape Town (Durbanville) office.
To qualify for the position, you will need:
- Completed BCom Logistics/Supply Chain or relevant degree.
- 3–5 years of experience in a logistics-related role, ideally in an international import/export environment.
- Excellent MS Office skills.
- Excellent time management and planning skills.
- Strong eye for detail and analytical.
- Humble, flexible and honest.
- Critical, accurate and quality oriented.
- Thorough understanding of logistics and supply chain management.
- Fluent in Afrikaans and English.
Your job description is set out as follows:
- Stock management and control, daily stock check and comparisons between Agile and stock sheet from cold store, mark rejected pits and inform marketers, follow up with marketers regarding old stock and stock that will need re-inspection. Correct any deviations received, for examples incorrect carton quantity or incorrect pack type. Query incorrect carton quantity etc. with cold store if no deviation received. Query rejected pallets with grower, ensure pallets are rejected and remove from stock.
- Arrange re-inspection with forwarding agent on request from marketer or logistics manager.
- Coordinate loadings with freight forwarding company, pack houses, and cold store.
- Sending loadout and labelling instructions as received from marketers, ensure loadout is within the weight restriction per country, ensure fruit age is still within export standard, labelling instructions are received correctly from marketers, if no labelling instruction is received from marketers for a country which needs labelling follow up with relevant marketers.
- Instruct breakdown and build-up of pallets for breakbulk or container shipments.Update system stock for all break down and build-up of pallets at Cold store level.
- Follow up with transporters regarding transit pallets allocated to ensure fruit arrives on time for loading.
- Phytclean verification for EU shipments
- Send label templates to growers on request from marketers.
- Compile packing lists and general addendums from PO files, check all data is correct before processing the dispatch - Process loading documents.
- Correct any deviations, for example weight on packing list as request by forwarder, client or marketer.
- Request PO files, intake documents, out consignment notes and accompanying documents from growers if outstanding and sent to cold store and/or forwarding agent.
- If no PO files are received on time, instruct cold store to do manual intake.
- Generate excel mates and PO files and send them to fixed producers.
- Handle all enquiries from clients, for example free days request, damaged container, handle COD on request from client once confirmed by relevant marketer.
- Request / confirm label templates from clients, save in client folders and update monthly.
- Requesting import permits from clients.
- Send and receive client information sheet, confirm details, notify parties and consignees are correct.
