Internationally established fruit export company is seeking to appoint a driven and ambitious procurement/commercial candidate to grow and ensure continuous brand and product quality for their Grape division.
This position entails marketing, selling, and procuring of the Company's Grapes to existing and new clients on a sustainable basis with the aim of achieving above-average grower returns.
The successful candidate will also need to fulfil the strategic, analytical and planning role and advise the team on new developments, opportunities and market trends within the international fruit trading arena.
APPOINTMENT REQUIREMENTS
- Completed tertiary qualification in the field of marketing, agriculture and/or business management.
- Strong experience in strategy, procurement and relationship management within the fruit industry
- Extensive experience of Grapes in the fruit marketing industry and to foreign and/or local clients in traditional and developing fruit markets
- 3+ years’ experience in budgeting and costing, retail programs, pre-season planning, grower payments and defining and executing procurement targets successfully
- Extensive knowledge, understanding and experience of the complete fruit supply chain cycle and managing those relationships effectively
- Being a self-starter is crucial and you must be able to communicate effectively with the various stakeholders in the business
- The ideal candidate will also be a team player, with sound social skills in the interaction with fellow staff, farmers and clients.
