Stellenbosch Vineyards is looking for a detail-oriented and driven Financial Accountant to join our Finance team.

Purpose of the Role
To ensure the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of the company’s financial records and reporting processes while supporting the Financial Manager and broader finance function.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial & Accounting Duties
- Perform and post monthly bank reconciliations
- Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Process month-end journals
- Maintain and update the fixed asset register and calculate depreciation
- Reconcile tasting room daily cash-ups to bank
- Calculate and process accurate sales commissions
- Statutory & Tax Compliance
- Prepare and submit VAT returns and VAT reconciliations
- Complete and submit EMP201 returns
- Handle payroll-related statutory submissions
- Complete quarterly Stats SA financial questionnaires
- Ensure timely and accurate submissions to SARS
- Stock Management
- Conduct stock takes and process adjustments
- Manage inter-location stock transfers (Cellar, Dispatch & Tasting Room)
- Monitor stock accuracy on the system and resolve discrepancies
- Forex Administration
- Capture incoming foreign funds details on NedTreasury
- Ensure accurate and complete documentation prior to review
- Administration & Support
- Support and guide the finance team on accounting queries
- Assist with BEE reporting and audit requirements
- Prepare working papers for financial audits
- Liaise with banking institutions on administrative matters
- Assist with WineMS integration
- Support weekly casual wage processing
Minimum Requirements
- Financial Accounting Diploma or BCom Degree
- SAIPA (Registered Professional Accountant) preferred
- Minimum 5 years’ general financial and administrative experience in a corporate financial environment
- Experience on Business Central will be advantageous
- Wine industry experience beneficial
- Excellent attention to detail
- Deadline-driven with strong reconciliation skills
