Stellenbosch Vineyards is seeking a dynamic, customer-focused Tasting Room Manager to lead our tasting room operations and deliver an exceptional brand experience to local and international visitors.

Purpose of the Role
To manage and grow the tasting room footprint and experiences by delivering outstanding customer experiences, achieving sales targets, and ensuring seamless daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Experience & Brand Ambassadorship
- Deliver and oversee exceptional wine tasting experiences
- Act as brand ambassador for Stellenbosch Vineyards at various events / shows
- Build strong relationships with customers, tour operators, and trade partners
- Handle customer queries and resolve complaints professionally
Sales & Revenue Growth
- Drive tasting room sales (wine, merchandise and promotions)
- Manage and grow wine club sign-ups
- Upsell effectively and train team on sales techniques
- Monitor daily, weekly and monthly sales performance
Team Leadership
- Recruit, train and develop tasting room staff
- Create staff schedules and manage performance
- Foster a positive, energetic and service-driven team culture
- Ensure product knowledge training is ongoing
Stock & Operational Management
- Manage stock levels, ordering and stock takes
- Oversee POS system accuracy and daily cash-ups
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Maintain high standards of presentation, cleanliness and safety
Events & Collaboration
- Support marketing initiatives and promotional events
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams on campaigns
- Assist in hosting functions, group bookings and special tastings
Minimum Requirements
- Proven experience in hospitality or tasting room management (wine industry preferred)
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Sales-driven with sound commercial understanding
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Computer literacy (POS systems and MS Office)
- Willingness to work weekends and public holidays
- Own transport
