Bosman Adama, based in Wellington, has an opportunity available for an Assistant Farm Manager to work closely with the Senior Manager. The production units include wine grapes, blueberries, and vineyard rootstocks. The ideal candidate is someone with strong administrative, organisational, and communication skills, as well as excellent observation and monitoring abilities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for (but not limited to): *Management and monitoring of daily production activities *Supervision of irrigation, fertilization, pruning, plant health, and harvesting *Accurate record-keeping and reporting *Implementation and maintenance of management and production systems *Collaboration with the Senior Manager in planning and execution *Labour management and performance monitoring *Ongoing technical input regarding crop management *All other tasks related to this role.
Essential qualifications, skills and experience:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Agriculture (preferred);
- 3 years’ practical production experience or agricultural (farm) background experience in fruit or vineyard production;
- Technical knowledge of wine grapes, blueberries, or plant material production will be advantageous;
- Strong computer skills (MS Office; experience with ERP or farm management systems strongly recommended);
- Valid driver’s license.
