We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Operations Manager to oversee and optimise the day-to-day operational performance of our business. This senior leadership role is responsible for driving operational efficiency, managing key teams, and ensuring that systems, processes, and logistics align with the company’s strategic objectives.
The successful candidate will be a strong operational leader with excellent problem-solving abilities, a strategic mindset, and proven experience managing complex workflows and teams.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Strategy & Planning
- Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with company objectives.
- Manage operational budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation.
- Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, and workflow efficiencies.
Team Leadership & Management
- Oversee the Warehouse Supervisor and Administrator, ensuring strong cross-functional collaboration.
- Build, lead, and motivate high-performing operational teams.
- Set performance goals and provide ongoing coaching and mentorship.
- Lead regular production planning meetings.
- Lead and manage staff recruitment, training, performance management, and disciplinary processes.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Track key operational KPIs and metrics to evaluate efficiency and productivity.
- Analyse operational data to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
- Report regularly to the Directors and contribute to strategic planning initiatives.
Process Improvement & Optimisation
- Streamline operational processes to reduce waste, improve quality, and control costs.
Supply Chain & Logistics Oversight
- Ensure inventory levels, production timelines, and deliveries are effectively managed.
- Address supply chain challenges quickly and implement sustainable solutions.
Business Development
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities that support the company’s growth strategy.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.
- Support the Directors in expanding the company’s client base and service offering.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure operational readiness for new business opportunities.
Risk & Compliance Management
- Ensure operational activities comply with legal, regulatory, and safety requirements.
- Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with Directors to align operational execution with business strategy.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, partners, vendors, and clients.
Requirements
- Proven experience in an operations management or senior operational leadership role.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organisational and analytical abilities.
- Experience with logistics, supply chain, and inventory management.
- Ability to work strategically while maintaining strong operational oversight.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Must Have
- Minimum 5–10 years’ experience in the wine industry.
- Experience in a logistics environment.
- Experience managing warehouse and production operations.
