Twee Jonge Gezellen, situated in the beautiful Tulbagh Valley, is looking to appoint a Secondary Production & Compliance Manager to join their team. This role is responsible for overseeing the management of dry goods, ensuring strict compliance with SAWIS and HACCP standards, and leading the production team to consistently meet food safety and quality requirements. The ideal candidate will be process-driven, detail-oriented, and possess strong leadership skills.
The successful candidate will be repsonsible for (but not limited to): *Compliance & SAWIS: Manage SAWIS certification, sampling, and Wine of Origin requirements; Maintain full product traceability and audit readiness; Ensure all product labelling complies with regulatory standards. *Quality & Food Safety: Implement and monitor HACCP and hygiene standards; Manage cleaning protocols and risk controls on production lines; Ensure food safety and sanitation compliance across operations. *Dry Goods & Inventory: Plan and procure dry goods (glass, corks, labels, cartons); Maintain stock control and supplier coordination; Conduct regular stock takes and manage inventory records. *Production Logistics: Manage finished goods storage and warehouse transfers; Coordinate export and certification documentation; Ensure correct palletising, labelling, and product handling. *Team Management: Supervise bottling and packaging staff; Provide training and monitor production KPIs; Communicate daily production targets and workflow planning.
Essential qualifications, skills, and experience:
- A Diploma or Degree in Oenology, Food Science, or Production Management;
- At least 3–5 years’ in a wine production or food manufacturing environment, specifically in an administrative or supervisory capacity;
- Formal HACCP or ISO 22000 training is highly advantageous;
- Proficiency in Wine MS, EzyWine, or similar industry-specific ERP software; advanced Excel skills for stock reconciliation;
- Deep understanding of the SAWIS Wine of Origin scheme and labelling regulations;
- Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport.
