The Opportunity
We're seeking a Junior Accountant to support the Senior Accountant in managing a range of financial and accounting tasks. In this role, you will assist with recording and reviewing financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established processes and procedures, and supporting the timely submission of financial information. The successful candidate will also assist with reconciliations, statutory compliance requirements, and various accounting functions under the guidance of the Senior Accountant.
What You'll Do
- Account Reconciliations
- Perform timely and accurate account reconciliations, including bank statements, debit and credit accounts, sales reconciliations for events.
- Accounts Payable
- Ensure correct allocation of vendor invoices.
- Verify expenses, reconcile vendor accounts and prepare payments for approval.
- Accounts Receivable
- Assist with monitoring customer accounts.
- Create and send invoices and monthly statements.
- Follow-up on overdue payments where necessary.
- Collaboration
- Work with relevant departments, vendors and customers to resolve discrepancies and reconcile accounts differences.
- Month-End Procedures
- Assist the Finance team with month-end processes, including:
- Processing invoices for vouchers sold during the previous month.
- Processing monthly excise and foreign currency journals.
- Processing transaction fee journals (e.g. Dineplan, SnapScan, etc.).
- Clearing the suspense account.
- Compliance
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies when performing duties.
- Assist with general transactions and procedures relating to compliance matters.
- General Finance Support
- Provide general finance and administrative support to the Finance team when required.
Who You Are & What You’ll Need
- Relevant accounting qualification.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft excel.
- Time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet financial deadlines.
- A solid understanding of financial principles.
- Own transport is required.
- Experience in working with ERP Accounting systems, such as Business Central is advantageous.
