The Tasting Room & Direct Sales Manager will be the friendly face of our brand, delivering exceptional guest experiences in the tasting room, building strong customer relationships, driving direct sales, and ensuring smooth administrative operations. This is a multi-faceted role suited for someone who is creative, passionate about wine, hospitality, and organization.
Key Responsibilities
Tasting Room & Hospitality
- Oversee daily operations of the tasting room and marketing of tasting room
- Welcome and engage visitors, offering an informative and enjoyable wine-tasting experience and convert visitors into loyal customers
- Ensure the tasting room is clean, inviting, and stocked at all times.
- Assist with setup and hosting of winery events, private tastings, and tours.
- Promote and upsell wines & follow up wine sales
- Manage stock levels, ordering, and display of products
- Packaging, invoicing, and dispatching of customer orders.
- Maintain cleanliness, presentation, and ambiance of the space
Direct Sales & In-house Marketing
- Drive on-site and off-site direct-to-consumer sales through exceptional customer service.
- Manage orders and communication and build relationships with repeat customers, corporate clients, local tourism partners and private buyers.
- Plan and execute marketing campaigns along with Sales & Marketing agent (email, social media, promotions)
- Assist with promotional materials (newsletters, flyers, fact sheets & specials)
- Coordinate events, launches, and seasonal campaigns
General & Office Administration
- Handle incoming calls, emails, and visitor inquiries professionally and promptly. Process orders, invoicing, and customer databases
- Maintain accurate records of sales and stock as well as inventory
- Handle customer queries and follow-ups
- Assist with reporting (sales reports, marketing performance)
- Support basic financial admin (recons, petty cash, etc.)
- Coordinate logistics for deliveries and collections
Skills & Requirements
- Previous experience in hospitality, tasting room, wine sales, retail or office administration preferred.
- Reliable, trustworthy with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong sales and customer service skills
- Strong organizational skills, administrative abilities and attention to detail.
- Good understanding of social media platforms
- Computer literacy (MS Office, POS systems)
- Ability to multitask and work independently
- Professional, friendly, and customer-focused approach. Creative thinker & passion for wine
General
- Certain weekends & Public holiday work may be required. (Tasting Room closed on Easter Weekend & 25/26 December)
- 1 to 2 Saturdays per month to be worked. 10h00 – 16h00 (The Monday following the Saturday then taken as off day)
- Basic salary with Commission structure on sales.
