This position supports the Farmhouse operation across coffee, beverages, light food service and front-of-house execution. The role is hands-on and guest-facing, requiring a flexible individual who is comfortable working both in and out of the kitchen, with a strong focus on service, efficiency, and upselling.
Key Responsibilities
Barista & Beverage Service
- Prepare and serve coffee to Farmhouse standards
- Serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages (wine, beer, soft drinks)
- Maintain barista equipment and bar cleanliness
- Ensure correct portioning and presentation
Food & Pastry Support
- Assist with plating and serving pastries and light food items
- Support kitchen staff during peak periods
- Ensure food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards are upheld
- Assist with basic food prep and restocking where required
Front of House & Guest Service
- Greet guests professionally and warmly
- Take orders accurately and efficiently
- Deliver food and drinks to tables when required
- Clear tables and maintain FOH cleanliness
- Handle basic guest queries confidently
Upselling & Brand Representation
- Actively upsell coffee, pastries, wines, and soft drinks
- Promote Farmhouse offerings and daily specials
- Always represent the Blaauwklippen brand professionally
Operational Support
- Assist with opening and closing procedures
- Support basic stock control and reporting
- Work collaboratively with the Farmhouse team to ensure smooth service.
