We are currently seeking a highly skilled and creative Head Chef to lead the culinary offering at an exclusive farm in the Franschhoek Valley.

This intimate property is renowned for its immersive, farm-to-table philosophy, where sustainability, seasonality, and storytelling are at the forefront of the guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all kitchen operations, ensuring seamless daily service
  • Conceptualise and execute innovative, seasonal menus rooted in a farm-to-table ethos
  • Maintain strict control of food costs, stock, and supplier relationships
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a small, dedicated kitchen team
  • Uphold the highest standards of hygiene, safety, and kitchen compliance
  • Deliver consistently exceptional and memorable dining experiences
  • Collaborate closely with the wider team to enhance the overall guest experience

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef within a luxury hospitality environment
  • Strong background in fine dining, boutique hotels, or high-end farm/lodge settings
  • A genuine passion for seasonal, locally sourced ingredients and sustainable cuisine
  • Exceptional leadership and organisational skills
  • Solid understanding of kitchen administration, costing, and controls
  • Ability to thrive in a high-standard, detail-driven environment

 Package

  • Salary: R45 000 – R55 000 (dependent on experience)
  • Live-out position
