We are currently seeking a highly skilled and creative Head Chef to lead the culinary offering at an exclusive farm in the Franschhoek Valley.
This intimate property is renowned for its immersive, farm-to-table philosophy, where sustainability, seasonality, and storytelling are at the forefront of the guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all kitchen operations, ensuring seamless daily service
- Conceptualise and execute innovative, seasonal menus rooted in a farm-to-table ethos
- Maintain strict control of food costs, stock, and supplier relationships
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a small, dedicated kitchen team
- Uphold the highest standards of hygiene, safety, and kitchen compliance
- Deliver consistently exceptional and memorable dining experiences
- Collaborate closely with the wider team to enhance the overall guest experience
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef within a luxury hospitality environment
- Strong background in fine dining, boutique hotels, or high-end farm/lodge settings
- A genuine passion for seasonal, locally sourced ingredients and sustainable cuisine
- Exceptional leadership and organisational skills
- Solid understanding of kitchen administration, costing, and controls
- Ability to thrive in a high-standard, detail-driven environment
Package
- Salary: R45 000 – R55 000 (dependent on experience)
- Live-out position
