Oak Valley lies in the heart of the Elgin Valley, renowned for its apples and pears, its greenhouse cut-flowers, and the production of its outstanding cool climate wines.
We have an exciting career opportunity available for a self-motivated and well-organised individual who is focused on producing high-quality, detailed work within a team environment.
The ideal candidate would have the necessary skills and experience to do the following tasks:
Responsibilities
- Present our wines to guests in a friendly, professional and knowledgeable manner.
- Manage daily tasting room bookings and wine sales.
- Provide information regarding company products and general knowledge on the South African wine industry.
- Responsible for always keeping the tasting room neat.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures.
- Support stock counts and inventory control.
- Always be presentable as a proud ambassador of our brand.
- Create a warm and memorable experience for the guests, building brand loyalty.
Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12 (preferable).
- Previous experience in a winery tasting room
- Sales experience would be advantageous
- Basic wine knowledge is required, even though training will be provided.
- Likely to be in the age group of 20-35 years.
- Willing to work weekends and public holidays.
- Willing to work alone and take responsibility for the meticulous functioning of our tasting room.
- Fluent in English; additional languages (Afrikaans/Xhosa) beneficial.
- Suitable level of maturity and professionalism expected for the role.
