Pick Me Recruitment has an exceptional opportunity for a Hotel Receptionist to join our client’s team. This position will be the first point of contact for all hotel guests.
Key skills include excellent communication, strong customer service, proficiency in property management systems (PMS), multitasking abilities, and calm problem-solving under pressure. As the first point of contact, they must possess a welcoming demeanour, attention to detail, and ability to handle check-ins, reservations, and cash payments efficiently.
At least 3 years’ experience as Hotel Receptionist in a luxury hospitality environment
Relevant tertiary education preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Checking guests in and out, including taking deposits, and directing guests on parking option
- Liaising with housekeeping teams to check if rooms are ready, and managing additional drop offs of items such as extra towels as required
- Liaising with maintenance staff to deal with issues within rooms and common areas as they arise
- Managing the booking system for future reservations
- Communicating with potential and future guests about upcoming reservations
- Creating key cards and check-in info packs in advance
- Staying on top of current local events to better serve guests
- Learning about local attractions and amenities, including supermarkets, restaurants, bars, and public spaces, to better serve guests
- Dealing with guest complaints and inquiries
- Providing baggage storage services for guests checking in and out
- Keeping the lobby and entrance areas clean and tidy
- Tracks and notes all early arrivals, late departures, room moves, VIP’s and repeat guests, as well as any special requests
- Uses suggestive selling techniques to promote other services at the property
- Works closely with housekeeping department to ensure availability of rooms
Effectively assists all guests
- Maintains a high level of customer service
- Dealing with guests over the telephone as well as face to face interactions
- Negotiating rates if applicable
- Perform any other duties as assigned by Management
- Prepares for the current and following day’s arrivals to ensure guest satisfaction (special requests, packages/promotions, amenities, VIPs, room type, rate, etc)
- Reviews the following day’s departures to ensure proper billing (promo credits, group billing, share with billing, etc)
- Assists with setting up group billing and confirming group billing profiles while groups are in house;
- Understands and adhere to proper credit, check cashing and accounting policies and Procedures
- Posts additional charges to guest accounts during their stay and after departure
- Doing Front Office related administration duties such as PIT checks, credit balances
