At Jordan Wine Estate, we are looking for a warm, passionate and hands-on individual to join our team at The Cellar Door — our relaxed wine tasting and casual dining experience situated in the heart of the estate.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, has a passion for wine and hospitality, and takes pride in creating memorable guest experiences. You will work closely with our team to oversee the daily operations of The Cellar Door while contributing to the welcoming atmosphere that defines Jordan Wine Estate.
What the role involves
Your day-to-day responsibilities may include:
- Assisting with the smooth daily operation of The Cellar Door
- Hosting wine tastings and engaging with guests
- Supporting food and beverage service to ensure a memorable visitor experience
- Managing stock, POS updates, cash-ups and general administration
- Assisting with wine sales, orders and customer enquiries
- Coordinating cellar tours, vineyard experiences, picnics and special events
- Supporting promotional activities, functions and seasonal offerings
- Working alongside the team to maintain a positive, organized and guest-focused environment
- Staff scheduling and team coordination
What we’re looking for
We are looking for candidates who;
- Have experience in hospitality, wine, restaurant or tourism environments
- Enjoy working with people and building relationships
- Are organised, reliable and proactive
- Communicate well and remain calm under pressure
- Have an interest in wine and the South African wine industry
- Are comfortable with computers and POS systems
- Have reliable transport
Formal wine training (such as WSET or Cape Wine Academy) and previous management experience a prerequisite, but we also value attitude, energy and a willingness to learn.
