Wine Machinery, a leading supplier of wine barrels, oak alternatives, and winemaking equipment, is looking for a Workshop Manager to join our team. With over 30 years of servicing the wine industry, we are seeking a knowledgeable, team-oriented individual to support our workshop operations.
The ideal candidate is an ambitious, target-driven individual with strong leadership and organisational skills, who enjoys interacting with a wide variety of people. As Workshop Manager, you will oversee workshop operations, coordinate staff and production schedules, ensure quality control, and maintain efficient service delivery within the wine industry equipment sector, including wine-related equipment, barrels, and oak alternatives.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Managing and supervising workshop staff
- Overseeing quality control processes
- Managing stock control and stock takes
- Assisting with sales and customer service
- Coordinating dispatch and logistics
- Supervising manufacturing operations
- Performing fitter and turning duties
- Conducting minor machine servicing and maintenance
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety standards
- Overseeing general building maintenance
- Monitoring and recording water and electricity readings
Essential qualifications, skills, and experience:
- A relevant tertiary qualification will be advantageous
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a workshop management or technical role
- Knowledge of the wine industry, winemaking equipment, and machinery is essential
- Strong staff management and leadership skills
- Fully bilingual (Afrikaans & English)
- Valid driver’s license
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong organisational, problem-solving, and time management abilities
