About the Role
Oldenburg Vineyards is a boutique, quality-driven wine estate in the scenic Banghoek Valley. We are looking for a dependable Cellar Hand to join our small, dedicated winemaking team.
What We Are Looking For
- Valid forklift license with solid practical experience — this is a firm requirement
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a cellar, agricultural, brewery or warehouse environment
- SKOP Level 2 or 3 certification (advantageous but not essential)
- Able to work extended hours during the harvest season
- Resident in Kylemore, Cloetesville, Idas Valley or surrounding areas (company transport available), OR in possession of own reliable transport to reach the Banghoek Valley daily
Key Responsibilities
- Daily cellar operations including wine transfers, racking, and general cellar work
- Barrel work — filling, topping, and maintenance
- Operating cellar machinery and equipment safely and efficiently
- Maintaining high standards of cellar hygiene and cleanliness
- Supporting grape intake and all harvest-related activities
- Reporting to the Assistant Winemaker and Head Winemaker
