This role is pivotal in managing key export customer accounts, building new markets, and driving sustainable business growth in the global fruit industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop seasonal sales strategies and detailed weekly demand plans.
- Align marketing requirements with internal stakeholders to ensure customer service excellence.
- Act as the primary contact for export customers, ensuring clear communication and high service levels.
- Build and grow long-term customer, grower, and supplier relationships.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in export markets.
- Negotiate volumes and pricing to optimise sales and grower returns.
- Manage stock levels, claims, and trade agreements to minimise risk.
- Present market insights and performance data to customers and internal teams.
- Oversee customer orders, invoicing, claims, and debtors’ administration.
- Provide accurate reporting on account status, forecasts, and key metrics.
- Support finance in managing overdue debtors and queries.
Impact & Scope
• Responsible for +/- 20% of total export sales volume.
• Strategic and operational decision-making with direct financial impact.
• High complexity, requiring strong problem-solving and negotiation skills.
Qualifications & Experience
• Essential:
- Bachelor of Commerce or equivalent.
- 5–7 years’ experience in sales account management and trade.
- Strong knowledge of supply/demand, pricing, and costing mechanisms.
- Fruit industry or FMCG experience.
- Logistics and export market knowledge.
Desirable:
Related tertiary qualification in marketing or sales.
