An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated and hardworking Junior Farm Assistant (Full-time) to join a small, family-owned winery in the Helderberg region, Stellenbosch.

This position is ideal for a young person who is passionate about agriculture and the wine industry and wants to gain hands-on experience in farm and cellar operations within a supportive environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will assist with the following activities under guidance and supervision:

  • Assisting with daily farm operations and worker activities;
  • Vineyard activities including planting, irrigation, pruning and harvesting;
  • General farm maintenance and upkeep;
  • Assisting with cellar activities during harvest and bottling periods;
  • Assisting with stock control of packaging, labels and bottling materials;
  • Monitoring and maintaining farm vehicles, equipment and tools;
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of work areas;
  • Assisting with record keeping and logbooks;
  • Assisting with security and general oversight of the property;
  • Supporting management with day-to-day operational tasks.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Agricultural qualification or studies in agriculture/viticulture will be advantageous;
  • Previous farming or practical experience beneficial but not essential;
  • Willingness to learn and grow within the agricultural and wine industry;
  • Driver’s license essential;
  • Mechanical aptitude will be beneficial.

SALARY & BENEFITS

  • Salary: R10 000 – R15 000 per month depending on experience and qualifications;
  • Accommodation provided;
