Our client, a luxury wine estate based in Stellenbosch, is looking to recruit a Finance & Operations Manager.
We need a "head for business" - combining financial literacy, strategic thinking, and market awareness.
You will be responsible for overseeing financial health, operational efficiency, and administrative functions. This role combines strategic financial management with hands-on operational oversight across hospitality, wine production support, procurement, stock control, compliance, and reporting. The position plays a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day functioning of the business while supporting long-term commercial sustainability and exceptional guest experience standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all financial functions including budgeting, cash flow management, forecasting, reconciliations, reporting, and financial controls
- Oversee operational processes across the estate, including hospitality, tasting room operations, inventory, procurement, and supplier management
- Monitor and improve business systems, efficiencies, and internal controls
- Prepare monthly management reports and provide operational insights to directors and leadership
- Oversee stock control processes relating to wine, hospitality, and operational supplies
- Support strategic planning, business growth initiatives, and operational projects
- Lead and coordinate administrative and operational teams to maintain high standards of performance and service delivery
Ideal Profile
- Strong financial and operational management experience, preferably within wine, hospitality, luxury tourism, or FMCG environments
- Commercially minded with excellent analytical and problem-solving ability
- Highly organised with strong leadership and communication skills
- Proficient in financial systems, reporting tools, and operational processes
- Able to work effectively in a fast-paced, detail-driven luxury environment
- Professional, discreet, and solutions-oriented with a hands-on management style

- Suitable degree (completed articles advantageous)
- 5yrs+ experience
