Deux Lions Restaurant, located on a beautiful estate in Franschhoek, is seeking a highly organised, hands-on, and experienced Restaurant Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day management of our restaurant and associated business operations.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about hospitality, enjoys working in a dynamic environment, and possesses strong operational, financial, and people-management skills.

Key Responsibilities

Restaurant Operations

  • Oversee all day-to-day restaurant operations
  • Manage general hospitality enquiries and guest relations.
  • Ensure exceptional service standards and guest experiences.
  • Monitor stock control, procurement, cost management & wastage control.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and company policies.
  • Drive revenue opportunities and identify ways to enhance the guest experience.
  • Coordinate function planning and event execution
  • Liaise with the social media and marketing team regarding promotions, events, and content requirements
  • Daily and weekly ordering of stock and supplies
  • Updating cost prices and maintaining accurate inventory records
  • POS system maintenance, product updates, and menu changes

Financial Administration & Controls

  • Daily reconciliation of petty cash
  • Weekly and monthly reconciliation of sales and bank statements
  • Invoicing and debtor management
  • Payment of creditors
  • Monthly stocktakes and stock reconciliations

Staff Management

  • Recruitment, training, and development of staff
  • Rostering and payroll administration
  • Performance management and team leadership
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years' experience in a hospitality or restaurant management role
  • Strong financial and administrative skills
  • Experience with stock management and reconciliations
  • Excellent leadership and people-management abilities
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and POS systems
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
  • Valid driver's licence
