Deux Lions Restaurant, located on a beautiful estate in Franschhoek, is seeking a highly organised, hands-on, and experienced Restaurant Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day management of our restaurant and associated business operations.
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about hospitality, enjoys working in a dynamic environment, and possesses strong operational, financial, and people-management skills.
Key Responsibilities
Restaurant Operations
- Oversee all day-to-day restaurant operations
- Manage general hospitality enquiries and guest relations.
- Ensure exceptional service standards and guest experiences.
- Monitor stock control, procurement, cost management & wastage control.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and company policies.
- Drive revenue opportunities and identify ways to enhance the guest experience.
- Coordinate function planning and event execution
- Liaise with the social media and marketing team regarding promotions, events, and content requirements
- Daily and weekly ordering of stock and supplies
- Updating cost prices and maintaining accurate inventory records
- POS system maintenance, product updates, and menu changes
Financial Administration & Controls
- Daily reconciliation of petty cash
- Weekly and monthly reconciliation of sales and bank statements
- Invoicing and debtor management
- Payment of creditors
- Monthly stocktakes and stock reconciliations
Staff Management
- Recruitment, training, and development of staff
- Rostering and payroll administration
- Performance management and team leadership
- Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
Requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years' experience in a hospitality or restaurant management role
- Strong financial and administrative skills
- Experience with stock management and reconciliations
- Excellent leadership and people-management abilities
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and POS systems
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
- Valid driver's licence
