Deux Lions Restaurant, situated on a picturesque estate in Franschhoek, is looking for an energetic, professional, and service-driven Restaurant Supervisor / Head Front of House to join our team.
This role is ideal for someone with a passion for hospitality, strong leadership skills, and the ability to create memorable guest experiences while leading a front-of-house team.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience & Service
- Welcome and engage with guests, ensuring exceptional service at all times
- Handle guest enquiries, reservations, and feedback professionally
- Maintain high standards of hospitality and presentation throughout service
Front of House Operations
- Oversee the daily front-of-house operation
- Ensure smooth and efficient service during breakfast, lunch, and special events
- Assist with opening and closing procedures
- Monitor cleanliness, organisation, and overall guest areas
Team Leadership
- Supervise and support front-of-house staff during service
- Assist with staff training and development
- Lead by example and maintain a positive team culture
- Ensure company policies and service standards are consistently followed
Administration & Controls
- Assist with daily cash-ups and POS procedures
- Monitor stock levels of front-of-house supplies
- Support management with function planning and event execution
- Communicate effectively with the kitchen and management teams to ensure seamless service
Requirements
- Minimum 2–3 years' experience in a supervisory or senior front-of-house role
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong leadership and organisational abilities
- Professional appearance and attitude
- Ability to remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with restaurant POS systems advantageous
- Availability to work weekends, public holidays, and evenings as required
