A world-renowned, family-owned winery in the Stellenbosch area is seeking an experienced Head Winemaker with international exposure and a proven ability to lead a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities
- Craft exceptional wines that continue to build on the established reputation of the winery
- Lead and manage all aspects of the winemaking process, from vineyard intake through to bottling.
- Manage, mentor, and inspire the cellar team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Work closely with vineyard, production, sales, and marketing teams to ensure seamless integration across the business.
- Monitor quality standards and drive innovation while maintaining consistency and authenticity in the wines produced.
- Represent the winery at select local and international trade events, tastings, exhibitions, and customer engagements.
Requirements
- Relevant qualification in Viticulture and Oenology.
- Minimum of 10 – 15 years of experience in managing a cellar and leading a winemaking team.
- Proven winemaking experience within a premium wine environment.
- International winemaking, harvest, or market exposure.
- Demonstrated experience managing and developing teams.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of global wine markets.
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally as required.
