A boutique winery in the heart of Franschhoek is seeking an experienced and passionate Tasting Ambassador to join our hospitality team.
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic wine professional who enjoys engaging with guests, delivering exceptional service, and representing a premium wine brand.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct engaging and informative wine tastings for local and international guests.
- Deliver a world-class customer experience that reflects the winery's luxury positioning.
- Build rapport with guests and effectively communicate the winery's story, philosophy, and wines.
- Promote and drive wine sales, wine club memberships, and other winery offerings.
- Assist with tasting room administration, including bookings, reservations, and guest correspondence.
- Process sales transactions and maintain accurate records.
- Ensure the tasting room is presented to the highest standard at all times.
- Assist with stock control, merchandising, and daily opening and closing procedures.
- Support winery events, private tastings, and special guest experiences.
- Work collaboratively with the hospitality and sales teams to achieve revenue targets.
Requirements
- Previous wine tasting room, hospitality, or wine sales experience is essential.
- Strong knowledge of wine and the South African wine industry.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professional appearance and confident presentation skills.
- Ability to work weekends, public holidays, and occasional events.
- Strong administrative and organizational abilities.
- Own reliable transport is essential.
- Fluency in English is required; additional languages will be advantageous.
